Vacancies - please can you help us

Throughout the year we host many different events, often to raise money for mothers’ union causes – from our annual spring coffee morning to our hugely successful summer supper.  Most months we hold a branch meeting in the church centre where we have prayers and an interesting speaker followed by tea and biscuits.

Our branch meetings are usually held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7.45pm in the church centre – do join us and bring a friend!  We also have a knitting group.

Being part of mothers’ union is most rewarding and we adhere to 3 strands that form the core of all mothers’ union around the world – prayer is central to all we do / members enable individuals, families and communities to discover and utilise skills and knowledge that they possess, which is culturally relevant for their circumstances / to campaign and challenge the mechanism that perpetuates social injustices.

Why not become a member of our MU at Christ Church Heaton – we have a wonderful group of over 70 members who meet up at our events and support our many events – if you are interested then please contact us on 01204 492169 or come along to a meeting!

Mothers’ union prayer

Loving lord, we thank you for your love so freely given to us all.

We pray for families around the world.  Bless the work of the mothers’ union as we seek to share your love through the encouragement, strengthening and support of marriage and family life.

Empowered by your spirit, may we be united in prayer and worship, and in love and service reach out as your hands across the world. In Jesus’ name, amen.
